Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a housewife. She grew up within a household with four other brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter during childhood but started modelling while in high school eventually garnering commercials when she moved to New York. She was cast as an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. The professional life she has had is better than her personal life. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcohol addiction. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
